  2. more than 10 unexcused tardies to all classes combined for school year
  3. any unexcused absence(s)

ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES

EXCUSED ABSENCES

The attendance office does not accept notes or emails from parents excusing their son or daughter. Parents must call in to report absences or tardiness within 24 hours of student's absence in order to excuse his/her absence.

If your student is going to be absent for a few days (i.e. vacation, hunting, etc) and they inform their teachers and ask for homework, it DOES NOT excuse the absence. Parents MUST still call the attendance line and leave a message indicating the dates they will be gone.

LATE ARRIVALS

Even though the attendance office is notified that a student will be late or absent, this does NOT mean that it will be excused. Oversleeping and car trouble are not excused reasons for being tardy

Attendance procedures may be found in the student handbook on the High School website

CLOSED CAMPUS

Goodrich High School has a Closed Campus Policy. This means students are not allowed to leave the building at any time (lunch included) without parent permission.

IF YOUR CHILD IS ILL AT SCHOOL

If your child is ill and needs to come home,
Do Not text or use cell phones

Have your student go to the Front Office to call home. Mrs. Warden will speak with you after your student has spoken with you. She will confirm it is ok for him/her to leave and ask who is picking up or if he/she is a driver. Then your child may sign out and leave or meet you at the door (no need for you to come into the building or interrupt the classroom).

CELL PHONE POLICY

Cell Phones should be Off and Out of Sight during Class Time;(see handbook which can be found on the website).

Future absent homework should be arranged in advance with his/her teacher and picked-up by your student a couple of days in advance to the absence(s).

If you know your child will be absent in advance and you inform teachers; be sure to call the attendance office as well, so their absence will be properly coded
