College Awareness

COLLEGE APPLICATIONS

Seniors should begin processing their college applications in September and October. Some colleges have early notification deadlines. This is where students apply early in order to receive an answer by mid-December. Seniors should be aware that early application is suggested. The month of September is highly recommended. All college applications can be found on each college's website and submitted electronically. All high school transcripts and test scores need to be requested and sent electronically through Parchment.com.

COLLEGE VISITS

Each year the counseling office hosts the visitation of over 20 Michigan Colleges and their representatives. These visits are scheduled throughout the school day and are approximately 45 minutes in length.

Seniors wishing to listen to the presentations are required to sign up in the Counseling Office prior to the day of the visit.

TRANSCRIPT REQUESTS

All transcripts will be sent electronically to colleges, NCAA, etc. through Parchment. GHS transcripts include SAT scores; however some colleges, such as MSU and U of M - AA require your SAT scores be sent directly from The College Board.
